Gloves with padding on side of index finger?
1 Attachment(s)
I snagged this pic off the web but the circled area is pretty much where I have a callus except mine is slightly closer to the base of the index finger. My gloves have no padding there. Looking for some gloves with padding or at least some thicker material in that area.

Try a band-aid.

A callus is just your finger HTFU-ing.

I like these, and wear them all the time. Probably not padding right at that spot, but a robust fabric-check em out.

I'm guessing you get that from climbing out of the saddle, pulling up and chafing on the undersides of the brake levers. I get that too, usually on my middle or ring fingers as I usually have the first one or two over the tops of the levers. For rides with serious climbing, I usually wear long fingered light Danskine (sp) gloves. Not padding as such, but material that saves me a lot of pain. I just came back from the week long Cycle Oregon, wearing the long fingered gloves 5 of the days and have no issues on those fingers at all.
For those who say we are just wusses, that chafe gets old after the first 30 years or so. Not a big deal when I was a 20 something whippersnapper. Oh, and bandaids don't cut it. Yes, you can make them work if you wrap over them with the waterproof first aid tape but think out the wrap sequence carefully or you will be cutting the circulation off in your finger or having the tape unwind mid-ride. Rule #5 ...
|
The "rules" are for those who fear peer pressure more than love a good ride. I won't waste my time looking up #5 .
