What are your cycling goals?
Do you have time, mileage, or event goals? Are you goal oriented at all?
I was speaking with a friend who said it is difficult for him to get out and ride on nasty days, or busy days, when he has no end-goal in mind. I know we all ride for fun and fitness, but what motivates you on those difficult days?
Personally, I strive for 5000 miles and one century per year. That works out to ~100 miles per week and I typically find one organized event to ride for my century.
I've found that having a weekly goal of 100 miles really does help get me out the door when I'm a bit hungover or would rather just laze around the house. I don't plan my daily rides; I just hop on and go for as long as I feel like that day, but my mileage will increase later in the week if I haven't ridden 100 miles yet. It's a great motivating factor for me.
Just curious what other people are reaching for.

Do: Angels Staircase (MTB), Hurricane Ridge, Stevens Canyon to Paradise, Loup Loup Pass, Twisp River Road, and see the best scenery around.
Cabin fever is what gets me out the door on bad days. I enjoy riding my bike more than I enjoy being indoors.
Number goals don't make much sense to me as a motivator but I've been using a power meter lately and it's making me stronger, so I do wind up chasing the numbers too. Lately, as the weather sours and some of the better roads are getting ready to close because of snow, I'm transitioning back to mostly endurance stuff, so I'm chasing smaller numbers.

My goal is to drope the hamer. I'd like to be able to sustain 20 mph for 1 hour. I have a lot of work to do.

I'd settle for just 3.9W/Kg for FTP. Getting closer. Absolute FTP has been stalled out for a while, but it's hard to raise while losing weight. Also need to work on pain threshold so I can actually use whatever power I have. That's turning out to be more difficult.

Trying to decide whether it's a realistic goal to go to Masters Nationals next year.

I dunno... I find one wife is enough...
... oh wait. A bike.
My goals are pretty simple. I've taken about 5 years off since I last raced, and I'm trying to get back into the same sort of shape and start racing again. Right now that involves getting my endurance up (it's almost there), my FTP is only about 40 Watts off (but I've raised it by 80 Watts since getting back into the swing of things), and I need to lose roughly 25-30 lbs (I put on a lot of muscle mass during a body-building kick). At the rate I'm going, I should be in the general vicinity around February. After I hit that goal it'll be a cycle of continued improvements and racing.

4.5 watts/kg FTP. At 4 and change now, but my back isn't holding up.
Maybe race next year.
Get this KOM. So damn close.

-Have fun while exercising, unlike doing something I hate: running/jogging. Yuck. But I can go ride for a couple hours and enjoy myself the whole time.
-Have fun while commuting to work instead of unhappily sitting in traffic in my car
-Live longer, or at least be in better health than if I didn't ride a bike
-Have a hobby - something that I enjoy thinking about, even when I can't be doing it - and therefore enjoy life more than otherwise
-Set a good example for my kids (and my wife, too) that cycling is fun and good exercise and something worth doing as a lifelong activity

I have weekly, monthly, and annual mileage goals for biking and running that are set in the Digifit program that I use and I occasionally look at them to keep me going. Don't get too worked up about missing the short term goals, but like to try and beat the annual ones. Also play tennis and swim, but don't have goals set for these activities yet.

Burning calories allows me to maintain my current (goal) weight without having to worry about every calorie I eat (within limits of course).

My cycling goals?
Keep my "old school" '85 Fuji road bike, but maybe start looking at endurance style road bikes, but yet updated with today's technology.
Keep cycling and get rid of this belly flab (go down from 207# down to maybe 195# if possible).
Learn more about speed, cadence, physical endurance level, so I can at least to a half century.

1. 4W/kg threshold power. At 3.6W/kg before crashing that didn't seem like much of a stretch.
2. Miss no workouts. I skipped one on January 22nd for no good reason, another August 4th because doctors wouldn't let me eat or drink and said no strenuous activity for the rest of the day, and June 19th - July 10th after breaking my collar bone and spraining my AC joint.
I wanted to be as fit as I was when I last rode a lot in 1997 until I was - I lost over 65 pounds, got my resting heart rate down to 45, and 20 MPH was a comfortable pace for 1:20. Then I wanted more.
