I'm not sure drinking after a human is better than drinking after a dog.
A human that hasn't bathed for a week stinks like hell. For that matter, a cyclist who hasn't bathed for a couple hours totally reeks. A dog that hasn't bathed for a week smells good -- even after a couple months it will still smell fine unless it recently rolled in something.

Speaking of dogs drinking from fountains...
We've got some cool water fountains around here that have a lower side spigot for filling drinking bowls for dogs. They're great for quickly filling water bottles.
