Yes, that's a good point that's getting lost in all the chatter and non-constructive innuendo.

The Cannondale CAAD8 comes with the Claris all the way to the 105 groupset. So for $800 you can get a really nice frame (smooth welds, asymmetric chain stays etc.) that you can upgrade.
