Will black booties stain my sexy white Sidis if I get wet?

Notices
Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Now that is a DAMN good question...that I don't have an answer to but would be interested in hearing the answer to.

When I was searching around to buy, I couldn't find white ones on the US Sidi site
https://www.sidiusa.com/rbs/index.html

....although, they are on the Italian site

If the booties have been worn and weathered all ready then I doubt they will stain your shoes. Lorica, which is what your shoes are made of is some pretty dang tough, impervious stuff.

I was out 2 hours in freezing drizzle and snow with my new sidi's Sunday and although they are red I noticed no discoloration.

I don't wanna stain the Sidis
This is why I don't bother getting fancy schmantzy gear...
This reminds me of a perfect biker moment a couple weeks ago...

My gal and I, two returning, middle aged bikers, were tooling along a connecting path in here in Madison, on the way to the "road" when along zips two lycra clad bikers, lean, wickedly colored in Primal jerseys and cruising in matching black and Red 2K+ roadies. They DID not alert us to their passing on the left (what else is new?), as we approached an pedestrian underpass with about 1/8" of water standing...
They proceed to slow from 28 mph to about 2 MPH... we nearly rear-end them

it appeared that they HAD NO DESIRE to get any of their precious gear wet

(we laughed all the way down the road for hours)

I think you'll be ok. Just in case, wash your booties with a load of laundry first, just to make sure any excess dye comes out in the wash beforehand.

531 - move to Queensland, you'll fit right in with those white shoes, besides you won't need the booties there

No. They won't stain your Sidis. But tar, asphault, grass and chain grease will.

I have those obnoxious white Sidis too. Well, mine are more silver. I have black Sidi shoe covers and black Pearl Izumi toe caps. Neither has stained the shoes but I wish they had. I whish my shoes came with a light switch.

I bought these on EBay for a screaming deal:

yeah, I like that colour. I first saw it in a dimly lit shop and assumed it was normal silver, but I saw some the other day and it's a VERY light silver

Haven't bought them yet, so I'm not sure what's out there.

I was thinking of some Adidas ones, but I think they're only lycra and I want something a bit warmer

ah...OK.

Your shoes will be fine. I bought Etxe-Ondo Windstopper booties last winter.

Fantastic. I can recommend.

I've said this before: did you know Mark was Captain Spalding's "front house" sound guy for quite a while?

Na, can't remember.

Mark's had some injury for a while, and he's only recently started riding again. I saw him the other day on an Avanti. I thought he had a LOOK, or something
