December 40 Hour Challenge

Notices
Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Amazing how much more pleasant it is to ride with no wind at all.

December the 1st 31.0 miles, 1,096ft, 1.49.03
December the 2nd 43.2 miles, 3,104ft, 2.50.24
December the 3rd 27.7 miles, 906ft, 1.42.27
December the 4th 25.0 miles, 1,204ft, 1.32.24
December the 6th 37.0 miles, 1,211ft, 1.49.29
December the 7th 29.5 miles, 764ft, 2.14.04
December the 8th 63.5 miles, 1,798ft, 3.32.04

15.5 hours down, 24.5 to go.

Today's Metric brought to you by Serial on Pandora, a brilliant podcast-- following the story of Adnan Syed, and his involvement in the murder of Hae Min Lee in Baltimore, Maryland. It's a really compelling story, and well told. I got through the first five 40-minute episodes on today's ride, so 7 more to go.

Also, 257.3 miles for the month, leaving (I think) 382 to go. Doable.

I have been slacking a bit this month. Only 10 hours so far. No riding at all this past weekend cost me about 7 hours. The month looks like it will finish out well. Is there a way to post a link to a Stava training log?

First time since my accident that I've done 60 minutes of cycling. 40 or so easy spin (again on the trainer) and 20 in the drops. Still painful but trying to get back at it.
60 more minutes on the trainer again last night with about 20 in the drops.

18.5 hours down, 21.5 to go.

Planned on 25 miles for the day, and at mile 20, the rain arrived. And not a sprinkle. It poured on me for 2 miles, and I am not fond of it. My hands took a good 45 minutes to thaw out.

Also, 305.7 miles for the month.
