Raleigh Record questions

Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Raleigh Record questions

I just recently purchased a Raleigh Record bike. I was hoping someone could give me some info about it. I believe it is a late 80's bike. To me, it's really nice other than having to get used to the shifters, which are down where the handle bars meet the frame...

I'm not going to do any races with it, it's just a daily commuter bike, and fun rides around the area.

What's everyone's general opinion of it?

Thanks!

You do have a nice bike. I remember in the early 80s when I was looking at the Raleigh Professional to purchase my first decent road bike. It came with Campy Nuovo Record. Is this what you have?

I had a Raleigh Record 10-speed in the early-mid 1970s that I rode to school everyday until it was stolen on the last day of finals my senior year (of high school). If you have my bike, please return it, no questions asked
