Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

You guys are so far behind the times... we're 20 hours into it already.

Either way, have a great 2016 Addictionites, and may it bring all that you hope for.

We are leaving later this evening and flying to Buenos Aires to pick up a cruise around Argentina, Uruguay, and Chile with stops in the Magellan Strait, another passage and at Cape Horn. 14 nights on the ship plus some travel time on each side. Returning from Santiago. No cycling for a while except in the ship's fitness center. Stay tuned for reports.

First on-topic post of the year-

You know what drives me crazy? "A bike with 105's". You just know that they wanted to make it plural, which is wrong, and couldn't even do that correctly when they added the possessive apostrophe, which is also wrong.

I don't know if the fact that the group set has a number for a name is what throws people off, because I'm not sure anyone would say, "How much for a new bike with Ultegra's?"

Whatever. Happy new year.

On a similar note, it used to bug me when I first moved to California and heard highways described with a "the" in front... now I find myself still doing it after not having lived there for 15 years.

Could a bike with the 105's be far off?

I'd say how much for a bike with 600's.

Sounds pretty cool, I love Argentina, spent quite a bit of time travelling through in the 70"s and early 80"s.

Around here, it's more snowshoe miles, unless I get a fat bike.
