Please pray for us (california)
Might get up to 1-2" of rain today in California metro areas. Certainly can't ride in this. Possibility of rain every day for the next six days means no riding for six days. Please keep us in your prayers.

People might need to go home, shower, and put dry clothes on after they go outside!

It's ugly here. Wet stuff in the streets; I'm not sure what its, other clear and wet and cold. Everyone is staying inside, although no one comes outside much, anyway. I can't even get my dogs to go outside, their hiding under the bed, with me.

watch the radar.. probably plenty of holes to ride in there.. usually easy to find a 2hr window to get out on days with "showers" or AM/PM stuff

You should be thankful as all get out that CA is finally getting enough rain to start filling those depleted reservoirs. Pray for you? If prayer did any good, I'd be praying for more rain, not less.
FWIW, when I lived in San Diego, I rarely rode in the rain either. I wouldn't trust a SoCal driver in the rain!

LOL, the news is hilarious. Non stop radar coverage and news people standing outside in the rain. 1 whole inch! My lord!
Of course, when the hills slide into all the houses built next to them, things will get somber.
it's not the fenders and rain jackets that are a limitation, it's all the dingbats that don't know how to drive in the rain. It's bad enough when it's dry.

The problem is it's going to keep on coming relentlessly, a whole series of storms brewed up in the Pacific by La Nina and aimed at California. An inch or two of rain isn't what they're worried about. It's the big storm after the ground is saturated after all those 1- and 2-inch rains, especially in areas down from where there were large burn-offs.

i don't think many people have fenders in cali
Im lucky enough to have a good jacket and clip on fenders for those wet club rides.
Wet lunch rides? I'm not so sure if I want to do that...
Ran 5k instead. Only my shorts and shoes got wet

We are getting quite a bit in this round of storms, but we have a huge hole to dig out of.

I'll be riding tonight (with the aforementioned fenders and jacket), and weather.com shows it'll be dark green rather than red (bummer!), but I'll pick a route that should avoid most of the doofus drivers (and will take my Dinotte taillight and hope the drivers try to avoid it rather than aim for it).

I'll pray you get snow. Then you'll know what my world is like.

Some of these posts remind me of a poll. 95% of drivers responded they are better than average. Everyone claims other people don't know how to drive.
On a positive note, I'm glad to see not one person posting the rain is from climate change!

Prayers against rain? California? Really?
Isn't Cali in the throes of a record drought?

I think my chances on the bike in the rain may be better than in the car on the crazy wet freeway where nobody understands teh hydroplane risk.
Oh sure, you go 80 in your Prius into that big puddle...
But cleaning my bike after a wet ride is such a chore.
