For a lot of cyclists its a necessity ...no a tradition, a fixation and a habit that can't be turned down.

Who here is is addicted? Fess up!

My parents are Italian immigrants. My mom and dad would always leverage a cup of espresso when we needed a ride out of the rural community we kids grew up in. I finally escaped that rural community in my 20s and ended up in another one right here in the middle of the Rockies. Go figure. I was a master at making espresso before it was cool in the US. Now I'm still making espressos. But the gear is much better ...not too much different than bike gear.

I did a lot of IT work for Starbucks over the summer. last year. I got one of those Saeco espresso makers with the foaming wand and a bur grinder to boot as a parting gift. Now I'm hooked. I can't leave for work without a home brewed Vanilla Latte ...extra hot. It's insane.

I even have a French Press for backpacking.

There, I admit it. I'm a drug user. A caffeine fiend. But how sublime it is. :)

I am a coffee addict myself, and I must say, I am quite a snob when it comes to coffee. Not to hijack this thread but what brand/blend do you guys brew? My favorite is the Sumatra that Peet's roasts.

No coffee drinker here, but love the taste of Chai Tea. YUMMY!!!

I knew you were a druggie Telenick!! I have the same condition. I cant make it to work without a large cup of Tim Hortons coffee. Lots of sugar and cream. I think they put crack in it. The drive through lines always spill over into the street!!

Havent tried to get through the line with my bike yet though... Wonder if they would serve me. If I make it through, I should try to get them to put it in my drink bottle!!

I really can't tell any difference between super-expensive and cheap-o wines, but when it comes to coffee, I'm also a complete snob. The world quits turning without it, literally. It's quite a substantial cash crop, well behind oil, but not by THAT much.

Hijack away. At least I you'll diffuse the flaming a 'bit.

dark strong coffee - not that wimpy joe stuff they call americano in europe

Back in Aus I drank far too much of the stuff. Had an awesome espresso machine at home, and we had an even better one at the office. About 15 cafes within 10 minutes walk of either all serving fantastic Italian espresso.

Now, I mostly just drink it at home out of my not-so-great but does ok espresso machine or the french press. Can't stand the drip filtered crap here at work, and I've rarely found a restaurant that can do me a short black at the right temperature with a good crema.

Oh, and I like my coffee strong and black. Just like my wheelsets. (there... now it's got something to do with road biking! :D)

Sounds like I need to come and drink it at your place ;).

I'm a coffee addict too. I need to get a much better espresso maker though, and a better burr grinder. The one I currently have isn't too easy to clean, and gets coffee grinds all over the damn place. French presses rule, and they're cheap!! The best way to make coffee.... Can anyone reccomend a good bean for making espresso with? I've tried the Starbuck's Espresso Roast, as well as the Gevalia (hey, I got a free drip coffee maker, it was worth it :) ) Espresso Roast. Any recommendations?

i have a rather long history of coffee addiction. i was drinking too much coffee and eating too little - which really caused stomach problems for me. i never felt right until i adjusted the balance. now, i use coffee almost as a treat. only every once in a while.

I admit that I'm a coffee addict. Hell, all my computers have coffee names (and I have plenty of computers). I am contemplating getting a Co-Motion Espresso just for the name. Well, okay, it's also because they're great bikes but still... the name has something to do with it. :)
