Disk Brake Wheel Upgrade

Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Disk Brake Wheel Upgrade

Hello I have a new CAAD 12 disk with Mavic Askium centerlock wheels. I am interested in a wheel upgrade and have looked at the Mavic Ksyrium Pro Disk as an upgrade as I have had great luck with Ksyriums in the past. First question are there issues with switching the wheels to a six bolt pattern other than new disks? Second question does anyone have other ideas for a wheel in the $1000 range. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Scott

someone in the online swap meet facebook page is selling a pair of 202's for $1200. I know its a limited option, but I love the savings on used items personally. I already offered him a trade, but he didn't need my item .

I did this on my Synapse Ultegra DI2 disc bike. It had the same Aksium disc wheels. November had a deal (n November...) where you could get the Nimbus Ti CLD with the White Industries T11 hub instead for $625. I got the Pacenti SL25 rims. Nice wheels, came in at 1610 grams w/o rotor and skewer. I go new rotors and skewers so that I could quickly swap the Aksiums back if needed.
