So many craft and microbrews... most already mentioned. On the top of my list however are the darker beers which include the ubiquitous Guinness, Redhook Blackhook Porter, Samual Smiths Oatmeal Stout, Samual Smiths Taddy Porter, Redhook Nut Brown Ale, Samual Smiths Nutbrown, Goose Island Hex Nut Brown Ale, Snoqualmie Porter, Black Butte Porter... I could go on and on. A favourite chain of taverns my little cycling group likes to frequent is McMenamins.

Miller Lite is my staple.

krich 05-05-05 12:43 PM

Deschutes Brewery (Bend, OR)
- Black Butter Porter
- Obsidian Stout
- Mirror Pond Pale Ale
Pike's Brewery (Seattle, WA)
- Kilt Lifter Scotch Ale (my current favorite)
I would also agree with Khoun McMenamins is a great place to stop after a ride. Good food, good beer and they distill a decent whiskey, but that is another tread.

Redhook IPA is what's on tap at my house.

Sunshine Wheat, but I'm a Colorado girl and we have some of the best beers here :D

What's your elixar of choice.

Guess I'm one of the few that doesn't drink...

As far as Pike's beers go, that's my favourite too.

The other great thing about McMenamins is the venue. They like to take historic buildings and renovate them as well as turning them into a brewpub. The Olympic Hotel and Theatre is one example. They even offer a hotel/movie package that includes not only a night's stay but also dinner and drinks served in the theatre while you're watching first-run movies. Or how about a UFO watching party? Or how would you like to sit around and lift a few pints at what was originally an elementary school? Mmmm... classy drinking. :)

I understand that Jim Jones and the People's Temple were fond of that drink too. :D

Nearly any import, micro, or craft beer will do. My problem lies in the fact that the pubs and bars that I frequent have too many of these on tap to have one of each! I'll keep trying though.... hehe

Yeah.. and sometimes I forget which ones I've had and liked. I need to keep a beer log.

I actually did that when I was in England in 1995...still have it..with a pub log too :D

The barmen and owners thought I was some kind of writer, or newspaper reviewer. It was GREAT :D

Brooklyn Hefeweizen....fantastic.
