Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

I was only joking. It is really nice, although I'd do without the funky Zipp seatpost and flip the stem myself.

I don't know what a hipster is ... I guess if they all ride fixies ... they must be fans of "Premium Rush."

This one looks better. Except for that Freddish bar tilt.

at the very least I'd rotate the bars a bit and go silver seatpost and stem. Oh and see if I couldn't find a chrome fork, but that's just me. I love a thinner fork with a sexy curve to it, and you only get that in steel.

Unfortunately, the part that was supposed to come in yesterday from Shimano isn't coming in until Feb. 10. Sigh... Bike shop told me I was able to fit 35mm tires on, so quite happy about that. If I want to go wider, I can get a set of 650 and fit maybe 40mm on there, giving me a similar riding diameter to 700c with 23mm.

Association.

The bike in and of itself isn't hipster. But in popular culture I tend to see Hipsters riding classic looking steelies with steel forks as seen in figure F3. As dr_lha pointed out, fixies are also a common theme.

I'm not saying riding that bike makes you a hipster or that non-hipsters don't ride classic looking steelies. In fact, I like the bike. That's why I posted it in the first place.

Kind of like the gay pride flag. A rainbow in and of itself isn't gay and wearing clothing or accessories with rainbow stripes doesn't mean you are gay, BUT when a group uses a particular image or object through repetition, especially one as generic as a bike or the colors of a rainbow it becomes engraved in our minds through association.

It's too much money for any frame, but I prefer old fashioned. It would be better with a lugged steel fork.

It is a funny blend of old and new. Tubes are lugged and not shaped which is old. But they are oversize and I think stainless, which is certainly more modern. Carbon fork, threadless steerer are also newer, but the headset looks non-integrated, which is not. The toptube is very slightly sloped, and I don't know WHAT that means. It would have been neat for the anniversary bike to have been fully up to date like a stainless, lighter Venturi instead of a half throwback.

The frames are made from either True Temper OX or Reynolds 853. There's also a choice of full stainless steel. However with the paint I think this is steel with the optional stainless stays.

Another, with a saucy Wound Up fork, which I think looks a bit better:

Super-clean framework on this Quiring stainless, and a funked-up build earns points, but I wanna smack the guy for the horrific, saggy, seat bag. WTF? Really.

I love the nearly perfect proportions and aesthetic statement of this TT S3 framed Falconer. Just gorgeous in it's expression of purpose.

Make the TT horizontal and I'm all up in there!!!

Well, get rid of the squid cranks too.

If you lengthened the stays the bring the TT horizontal, I think the fork would end up looking out of place too, and would need replacing with a somewhat thicker, pink-painted fork with a slight forward bend.
