...bottom brackets aren't created equally as it turns out. Certain press fit BB's are more susceptible to water/dirt ingression.
If you end up riding a lot in the rain and you have a common press fit bb, you want/need to pull it apart and service/clean/regrease the bearings more frequently...or...just plan on changing the bearings at a higher frequency.

Unless you live in the PNW, why intentionally ride in the rain? Wait till the next day to ride.

It depends. How stiff is your BB?

Riding in the rain is no problem. Riding through rivers and submerging your bearings and suspension fork...well, that's another thing altogether. Don't ask me how I now this...

Yes, but it will take awhile. I have tens of thousands of rain miles on my bike already, so I'll let you know when the BB is destroyed. At that point, I may buy a new BB. But I don't know -- those things about as much as a chain so I may want to save my coin.

reason why I ask is cause I road my new bike to work the last few days in a down pour and my workmate ( who owns a carbon jamies and competes locally) told my i was crazy for riding my new bike in the rain.. problem is my other bike is an old mountain bike junker and I dont wanna ride it ever again.
Its also my transportation so waiting for the rain to stop or the next day is not an option

It depends. Is your stem long enough and slammed? Are you going to be dialing up 400 watts on said rides? How bout dropeing the hamar? If your answers are yes, then no, but if your answers are no then yes. No.

If you never ride your bike, and you keep it in a room with well-controlled temperature and humidity, the bearings and bottom bracket can last an extraordinarily long time.

You're screwed. Between the water in your shifters and the stripped seat post bolts, you should just take the bike back to the store, get your money back, and quit *****ing.
Or stop trolling.
Edit: (can't say "another word for a female dog?" ffs) Stop whining then.
