Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Sore Legs after long hard ride?

After several weeks without riding, and not much riding over the last 2 months before that, I went on a 3 hour group ride yesterday that included multiple +10% climbs, as well as fighting 15-25 mph wind most of the time. After about the 2 hour mark, my thighs really started to burn and feel worn out. Made it home, but now my legs feel like jelly. Please help me figure this out??!!! Here's all the relevant information:

-I ride a modern steel road bike with about 3 inch saddle to bar drop....Maybe I need an integrated seat-post?

-My back, knees, shoulders, arms, and hands felt great, no pain or soreness anywhere other than my legs...maybe I should drop my saddle down 2 inches and change my stem?

-I was not dressed like Lance Armstrong...maybe I need a new kit?

-I have a carbon fork... maybe it's about to explode?
