Men's longer-legged bib shorts?

I'm so tired of having to pull the legs of my bib shorts down because they creep up. Some of them have silicone grippers, others are just material. The problem is they aren't long enough in the first place and sort of feel like how a shorter women's short might be. What brands/models have lengths that are 1.5 to 2 inches longer than most? I'm currently using Pearl Izumi Elites and P.R.O. In-R-Cools. I really like the 1:1 chamois in the latter, btw. So, any recos for longer-legged bib shorts? I prefer all black or very subtle graphics plus a quality chamois. BTW, sizing help is also appreciated--I'm 6-1, 172#, lean build and wear a medium in the ones listed above (the end of large size legs are loose on me). Thanks for your help.

I'm 6'5 and wear LG bibs, both the Fit Sensor 2 and the Neo Power styles are pretty long compared to most others and they stay put. My current tan line is about 3-4in above the knees. The higher end versions tend to get tighter and shorter so I try to shop in the middle of the line no matter which brand I choose.

How about trying the Pearl Izumi Attack bibs. I believe they are longer.

Hairy legs?

I don't know what your budget is for bibs, but these are nice and long. I like them a lot. I'm 6'.

Look at the images they have of people wearng them. That should help you decide if they are lng enough for you.

My team uses Hincapie for our clothes. They offer 11-inch and 9-inch inseam options. I'm not sure if that is only on the custom stuff though.

I use 11 inch, but almost everyone else on my team goes with the 9.

I am 6'4" and have a long torso, so I gave up on finding bibs that fit me.

I just ordered some "Aero-Tech" tall bibs, which also have an 11" inseam.

I'll let you know ho they fit.

Boure will do custom for an extra 20%. Longer suspenders, higher rise, different inseam...

Perhaps you are looking for bib-knickers, which is more of a cool springtime outfit.

I'm 6'4" and after doing some research I have settled on LG Equipe bib shorts. They have the longest inseams I could find in a well made comfortable short. I tried a pair of the Aero-tech tall bib shorts and while they are nice and long I didn't like the silicone leg grippers.

What size did you buy in the Neo Power? Did you have to size up with LG?

I wear an XXL, the XL's feel a bit tight on me but do fit, I'd rather not have my bib shorts be too stretched out because they become see through. I'm a pretty lean 225lbs. The Neo Power bibs or shorts do fit a little tighter, especially in the leg area compared to the Fit Senor's but both use the same padding/chamois.

I'm around 195 lbs and I found that an XL fits me best. They are made with a compression material so they feel tight at first vs other bib-shorts.

I recieved the Aero-Tech bibs and got to try them out. I'm 6'4", 200#with a 34" waist and 36" cycling inseam.

Fit is perfect (Size M). Legs come down to the top of my knees, chamois is very nice.

The silicone leg band is a hair puller. That's my only gripe.

RPK79 03-18-16 01:27 PM

Huh, I've felt they've been getting longer every year.

I like the length of my Louis Garneau power bib shorts:

http://revrider.net/2010/11/15/revie...er-bib-shorts/

Haven't seen then less than $100, though. So maybe some of the Ultra and/or Elite bibs from Performance might be a better value?

Edit: Should mention that they have the band at the bottom that squeezes the leg a bit. So they should stay in place better than the older shorts without it.

RPK79 03-18-16 01:57 PM

You probably just need bigger quads.

bikeme 03-30-16 02:15 AM

Hi all, I appreciate the input. I ended up buying the Louis Garneau Neo Power Bib Shorts. I love them! They are exactly the length I was looking for. I got a size large and they fit me perfectly (6-1, 172). They supposed offer more compression than most other shorts and I would say that the mfr. info is accurate, yet it is not too much. I shave and they stay in place. So far I've worn them on a 12 mile mtb ride and also a 42 mile road ride. Great chamois too, I don't feel anything--basically, I forget I'm wearing them.

Good deal!

I have a pair of these but not in the "long" style. I have the regular length because I don't like long bibs.

Those look great--lots of options with pad width. Thanks.
