New to me: 2002 LeMond Maillot Jaune

Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

New to me: 2002 LeMond Maillot Jaune

Hello all, my name is Simon. I'm a first time poster here, but thought it might not be too bad of a place to start.

To begin, let me give a little back story. Two days ago I saw on Craigslist, an add for a 2002 LeMond Maillot Jaune. Not knowing too much, aside from Greg LeMond's racing prestige and having heard great things about his bikes. I decided to take a plunge and purchase the bike. After an eight hour day of driving and much lower price than I should have payed. That bike is now sitting in my bedroom.

The bike appears to be in very nice condition. No rust that I can see anywhere, breaks and Dura Ace all working perfectly. Only damage seems to be aesthetic to the paint, small chips here and there. I'll provide pictures later in the day.

I was just wondering what you guys know about the bike? I can't seem to find too much literature online regarding the production numbers, or really that much at all.
Any information you want to contribute is greatly appreciated.

Thank you,

Good find and welcome to the LeMond club.

We need pics, it's sorta a rule, LOL!

You can start with this for info.

2002 LeMond Maillot Jaune - BikePedia

In a nutshell you've got a very good bike there. Quality, light steel frame, carbon fork, good components. LeMonds are known for having a geometry with a longer than the norm top tube.
Steel is real...and comfy.
