Where to buy quality tires inexpensively apart from UK
Hi,
Where do people go to buy good quality tires inexpensively. I've ordered through Ribble, Wiggle etc many times, they are very cheap but also kind of slow. Any other suggestions?

biketiresdirect.com has decent sale prices on tires almost every day.

Look for sales.
My local Specailized shop recently had a 2 for 1 sale on tires & tubes so I happily grabbed a pair of new Turbo Pro slicks...

For me the UK sites have them cheap enough to stock up with an extra pair and not have to worry about delivery time.

^ This. US prices are relatively fixed and much higher. Generally when US sources have tires on sale like Excel, there's a reason. Often they are discontinued models. Another reason the skeptical hires aren't that good. Velonews recently had an independent test and the Vittoria Rubino Pro 2 ranked near the bottom out of 34 ones tested. So they are on sale.

Include PBK and MerlinCycles in you search of UK dealers. But don't be in a hurry.

I used to use those other UK shops, but now I'm sold on Chainreaction Cycles. They don't always have the best price, but the last 3 orders have been crazy fast(3-4 business days). That is better than most retailers.

If I needed tires in 3-4 days, I'd buy at my local shop. I stock up and always have a few backups, so shipping time is no concern.

Expand and blowout, not good for tires.
Anyway @Inpd patience is a virtue that pays dividends. I say find the best tire at the best price and wait a few days.

Awesome. I followed my own advice a few weeks ago and bought the 150 tpi Rubino Pro tires. Amazing ride compared to my usual $12 commuting tires. I predict that you won't be disappointed.

What do you consider really inexpensive ?
I buy Continental GP4000S from BikeTiresDirect for $49 each. They're on ChainReactionCycles for $43 and the shipping from Dublin to NJ is 2 days vs 6 days from Oregon to NJ.
Any sources for these tires that are even cheaper ?

I think people will find faster shipping now with the higher duty threshold. A lot of the delays are from US Customs.
