ear buds or headphones that are good for riding

Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

ear buds or headphones that are good for riding

I want to get into the habit of listening to audio books when I'm going on longer 2+ hour rides. The problem is when there's too much wind (eg. large open field, or going past 25 mph), the wind noise pretty much takes over everything. I'm wondering whether there exists a product that would allow me to listen at a manageable volume, even at great wind speeds of say 35 mph.

Wait a minute. You're saying you want to listen to something while you ride? I thought that was unsafe.

Sorry, can't help. I always use a speaker so as to be able to hear cars, dogs, rubbing brakes, etc. as well as music.

there's got to be a way to dull out the wind noise without compromising situational awareness. aero helmets?

Seriously - if you're carrying a smart phone with Bluetooth, get a wireless speaker and crank up the volume. I would not feel safe riding with headphones on, especially because you're likely going to need those sound isolating earbuds to get over the wind noise.

QY7 Wireless Bluetooth Headset Sport Stereo Earphone Headphone for Smart Phones | eBay

Qy7 4.1 Bluetooth are nice.

3 to 4 hour running time, 30 to 40 minutes usb charge time.

I listen to pandora on all my rides.

Very affordable.

I don't hear wind, just music, very comfy.

Answers calls too.

i don't think it's banned. in any case, common sense is more important than any law. should one use ear buds in rush hour traffic? what about using ear buds on a long stretch of desolate road with a nice shoulder and few cars, moreover cars who are used to seeing cyclists on that road?

That's why I asked if it being illegal mattered to you. You answered that.

it looks pretty generic to me. I have a similar set of bluetooth ear buds. they're good for the most part, but above a certain speed, especially out in the open, the audio gets overwhelmed. maybe it's a matter of fit..

I'm more impressed with speed 25 -35 mph.
But in case this isn't trolling, jvc earbuds. They cancel enough wind noise , but honestly you want to hear a little bit what's around you.

Simple but effective and LOUD.

The audio is balanced & very good for $30 buck.

IDK what you have sorry.

Make sure you get the $30 dollar QY7 as there at $10 dollar knock offs of this same headphone. [not as good]

Been running these 1 year 0.00 issues.
