New stem coming for the vortex..

But it's white, oh no.. I can't remember all the cool road bike rules, I think

In order to have a white stem I have to have a white post and seat.
I don't remember, I got it cause I always had good luck with Ritchie.
It was a good price and i thought it was quality, and looked sharp..
But it's not black like my seat or the ea70 Carbon post. So it's in violation
Of bike snob, or style man,, that the one thing I don't dig about road bikes
All that fashion nonsense.

Yeah, I quit on the rules...the frame is my suit (B&W), the bar tape is my neck tie and I use whatever color I want, the rest of the items are just accessories...As long as the bike looks aesthetically pleasing, its good enough for me...Rule number 8 should be amended...:thumb:

yea its silly, i think, i guess because i come from a mountain bike kinda culture or back when things were not so color coordinated, if you got a cool cooks brothers crank set you rocked even if it was blue and you had purple anodized finishing kit.. that just made your bike customized and unique.. if you found a really nice titanium stem.. you would put that puppy on there even though you rode a steel Stowe or Steelman, bike and had an black alum post, every thing was a unique mishmash or componetry and choosing what to get was more about quality then aesthetics. but things have changed it seems that the whole fashion thing is given a bit too much importance.. i can remember seeing some real zooty race machines in Road Bike Action.. and they wrere all dressed in just a all kinda mixed up stuff.. paul brakes red anodized, and bouquet one off levers.. ha.. i guess i just miss those days when gear was not such a fashion statement.. to each own i guess, but hell im still rocking orginal DA spd pedals... and those have to be a fashion fauxpaz.. ;) just try to get me to change from those.. JUST TRY IT!!! hah

heck, i dont even think they make a seatpost to fit the litespeed vortex, and even if they do.. my ea 70 is pretty sweet kit.. i will just keep it 90s style.. mis matched.. all wrong... just wrong.. heck again, my shoes clash with all my gear... i was lucky enough to find some specialized old school comps.. in blue and yellow.. so i guess i need to swap my Ti frame for a blue and yellow.. carbon bike... not going to happen.. this is all just tongue and cheek,,, but i do really miss those mid 90's when cool stuff was just cool.. and not a fashion statement.. marketing really has pushed the fashion trend i guess... they love all those fashion rules... more coin for them to grab. meh... its all good.. if i could have gotten a good deal on a red pro stem... i would rock that too.. just going to have to live with an ugly litespeed... first world problems... ;)
