0 Degree stem
I have a 8 degree stem on my bike and am considering getting a 0 degree stem that is not adjustable.
If my thinking is correct the 0 degree stem (assuming both are 110) will put my bars further away. My ETT is a bit short and I thought of switching out my stem for this reason. My seat is in a good position |

You are giving up flexibility. I didn't know they made 0 degree stems.

I'm not sure changing the angle will get you what you looking for adjustment wise? Is your current 8 degree stem flipped up or down? A zero degree stem will put you right in the middle of what you have now.

My seat is in a good position Could end up closer depending on if your current stem is "flipped" or not. If you want to be more forward, get a longer stem |

Everything you need to know! I need help with this....It looks like the red line on the graph is straight yet the example shows -17. Also the red extension says 120 and the blue 99.... this is not a 28mm difference. Tell me what I am doing wrong.. Thank you |

It is straight (relative to the ground,) because it is -17º. This is pretty simple geometry: the stem is -17º, the head tube is 73º, and 73+17=90º-- parallel to the ground. The added 7mm of reach is because of the respective angles of the two stems. If both stems being compared were 120mm, the -17º would still be an additional 9mm away due to the angle.
edit to add for the most recent post by the OP: 110mm 0º Compared to: 110mm +17º: 14mm shorter, 29mm higher 110mm +7º: 5mm shorter, 13mm higher This is all based on 30mm of spacer height. The +7º stem with 16mm of spacer height is essentially the same as the 0º with 30mm (within 1mm of height and reach) |
