What is your $1,500-$1,750 bike with Shimano 105

Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Giant TCR Advanced 2 should be hard to beat at that price range.
Mine cost more, but only since I upgraded some parts + better wheels at purchase.

I got my Spec. Roubaix SL4 Sport new for that price range, but it was only on sale for 2 weeks. It's about 2k now. I love this bike, and it was between this and an Emonda, so glad the Spec. was on sale right when I was looking.

What Emonda(s) have you been looking at? I've had my eyes on the ALR 5, it looks to be fairly light, but most of all a full 105 group set. It is $1,680 and on sale for $1,380, though I will not be able to purchase it this month. Regardless it looks like a great deal.

Also, I do not plan on racing, I will be club riding, as well riding in a really nice neighborhood that has over 50 miles of smooth roads.

This one was carbon and I'm pretty sure it was a 2015. It was a demo bike and was on sale for similar to the price of yours with full 105 as well. It was a 56 frame, and I knew a 54 was what I wanted (my old bike was a crossrip and was a 54 that measured 56 and always felt a little big). Here's a picture of it, if that helps The top tube said S It was either an SL5 or an S5 -- I can't remember...the reason I do know that is because I thought originally the S on the top tube was a 5, when he told me what it was...

In the end, the frame size, the colors, and the fact that the Roubaix was on sale for those 2 weeks only -- made my decision pretty easy. Best of luck.

2015 Kestrel Evoke 3.0. Full Shimano 5800 and carbon frame.

But it was only $1300 so I suppose I'm outside of the rules of this thread.

Couple of candidates:

My favorite is the Specialized Allez, because it's what I ride. https://www.specialized.com/us/en/bi...sl-comp/106562

If you want to go carbon, the Fuji Gran Fondo is a great bike. And good value for money, IMO. Fuji Bikes | ROAD | ENDURANCE SERIES | GRAN FONDO CLASSICO 1.3

Less money is always better on the pocket book, allows for extras.

I bought a 2015 Ghost Nivolet 105 on sale for $600 at REI. It's almost full 105... the brakes are Tiagra. It's a pretty decent bike, I've really enjoyed it. The only problem was that it was black.

I have never heard of Dengfu.

I was curious, anyone else have experience with the Scott Speedster 20 or Felt F75?

Cannondale CAAX 105. A really wonderful bike. It's my doomsday bike, tough, all mechanical, virtuous handling, rust proof, and good looking too. What's not to like?

I was on a 2015 Specialized Allez Comp. DSW, 5800 105. Pretty freaking great bike. Put a few thousand miles on it and loved it before moving up to my Venge.

I picked up a brand new Madone 3.1 frameset my LBS had for sale for 500 bucks. Bought a 105 5700 groupset for around 400. I was able to strike a great deal on some DA C35 wheels. I already had a set of bars, stem, saddle and seatpost. So for around 1500 dollars I built a really solid bike which should last me a long time.

2015 KTM Revelator 3500 Carbon frame 105 group set, rim brakes, would be on the high end of your $ range. Can only locate picture of a 2016, but I think only difference to the 2015 is the colors. I think there are still a few in stock.

How would KTM rank among the other top players? Performance Bike is carrying KTM now I believe.
