KOPS and Stem
Hello everyone.
I was wondering, If you change to a longer stem, will that put your knee forward to give you a different value in relation to KOPS? I wasn't sure if it would put you in a more aggressive position and put your knee farther over the spindle, assuming you changed nothing but stem length. Thanks in advance. |
Normally only your hipangle would change together with the way you hold your arms. Changing to a longer stem can cause you to sit more forward on your saddle though. So if you only changed your stem and didn't change the way you sit on the saddle than the positioning of your knees will stay the same.

Normally, you set your saddle position first, then decide what stem length you need to reach the bars the way you would like. You normally don't redo your saddle position after installing the new stem. The saddle position is considered to be independent of the stem length, but not vice-versa.
