New Bike Day! 2015 LaPierre Pulsium 500 FdJ
Finally pulled the trigger on my first "serious" road bike! I've been riding an Iron Horse Triumph V for the last eight years on and off. After a bit of a hiatus, I took my bike out again this year and rediscovered how much I enjoy riding, and decided to upgrade. I was originally looking for a more rugged gravel bike with disc brakes, but I came across this beauty through my work discount. The bike has a full carbon fiber frame and fork, with an elastomer insert in the top tube to help with bumps. You definitely feel the give over the rough Northeast roads! The bike is built with Ultegra shifters, derailleurs and brakes, and finished with Zipp components and a Fizik saddle. The weakest link are the Aksium wheels which weigh in at almost 1900g. The full bike, with eggbeater pedals, weigh in around 18.1 lb (around 17.4 without).

Nice bike. It's not often you see a bike spec'ed out with Zipp stem, bars and Fizik tape and saddle. Interesting top tube design as well, kind of reminds me of a BMC, but reversed.

The Fizik and Zipp finishing kit really helped seal the deal. Even though they're the cheapest offerings from Fizik and Zipp, it's still a nice touch. The only LaPierre branded parts on this bike are the frame, and seatpost. It has a FSA headset, and I have no idea what BB they used.

Love the red white and blue color scheme of the 2014/2015 bikes! I had the option of choosing between the 2015 or 2016 model and went with the older one because of the color scheme. The new one has a much less attractive matte black color.

I like the color scheme either way; and to OP's mention that Lapierre is trying to break into the USA market, the Red/White/Blue motif can't hurt

My only niggle is their apparent love of their own logo.. Correct me if I'm wrong but I think I calculate that there are 15 LAPIERRE logos on this bike?

Is the red actually red, or slightly orange like the photo looks. I thought France's national color red was a deeper darker red?

You're probably right about the logos. But that's almost every manufacturer now.

I have one too! Stoked to see another one. Like most bikes, it comes with wheels that aren't as nice as the rest of the components. I got a used set of RS-81s and really like them.

I got mine new direct from LaPierre through a work promotion, which is stocked mostly with Accell bikes (Diamondback, Raleigh, Redline, etc). They still have 2015/2016 stock, but I don't know if they are updating it with 2017 stock.
