I wonder if that's telling. Do you complain about this kind of stuff a lot?

A city bus driver played chicken with me on my commute this morning. He/she was passing a parked car and came right into my lane as if I wasn't there. I have two very bright headlights and was wearing a bright orange jersey, so I doubt if they didn't see me.

Texaspandj makes a valid point. Why note the race of the driver? If the driver was white, would that have been mentioned? It's irrelevant. Regarding that incident, if it happens again, you should try to take a photo of the car and license plate and report to the police.

A guy used to cross to my side of the road every time he saw me, swerve just in time to keep from hitting me and lay on the horn at the same time. If he passed me from behind, he'd almost leave some paint on me and lay on the horn then too. One day when an afternoon T-storm was popping up I took a short cut home to get away from the lightning. Much to my suprise, I saw that familiar red Dodge Ram parked in a driveway. You can't imagine my surprise when the guys pit bull made a run at me just like his jackass owner. I had to get off the bike and use it like a shield to keep the dog off. So dude had to come out to get him and at the same time deal with me. It was killing him to walk out there, and if I hadn't been finding it all so funny and satisfying, it might have been painful to watch him.

Anyhoo, all I said to him was that, either his dog, or his own actions were going to cost him a ton of money, headache and heartache one day, and probably sooner than later.

My problems with him are over. His dog is now on a chain ( which I find reprehensible ) and on the rare occasion I see him on the road, I get a wide berth.

I noticed.

The hypersensitivity of our society is getting scary.

I thought that was said in jest, and key word contemplating.
Race of a person is not an option, "contemplating" throwing a rock is.

It's not hypersensitivity it's fairness. I know, I know, different generation, right?

It's hypersensitivity. Sorry if I invaded your safe space. If I want to hear people like you lecture to others I'll hang out in the political forum. But thanks for adding drama to the thread.

Honestly, I just want to know what makes a Texas Peanut-butter & Jelly sandwich different...

texaspandj 06-08-16 01:14 PM

Correct, I don't want color to be a factor either.
You're welcome.

I feel adjectives shouldn't immediately be offensive. Are you offended that the driver was black?

texaspandj has a valid point. How does it add any information to the story to note the race of the driver? Do different races drive differently? If she was of a different race would the incident not have happened? So what's the point? Maybe the poster just showed HIS colors.

Do you guys get offended when you hear a news report of a crime and the race of the criminal is mentioned? I mean, how does it add information to the story? The hypersensitivity of our society is getting scary, not "insensitivity".

And for all the people who were getting worried, no, I was not insinuating I was actually contemplating murdering her, holy cow

Forget the hypothetical, how does the race of the driver add to YOUR story?

I can't wait to hear THIS.

PepeM 06-08-16 02:03 PM

What color was your bartape during the incident? I can't fully understand the story until I get that relevant detail.

dim 06-08-16 02:05 PM

get a fly 6 for the rear and fly 12 for the front

if a car takes you out, the driver will say that you were at fault .... I had a very narrow escape a few weeks ago when a landrover missed me my millimeters ... he done that intensionally

https://cycliq.com/

have these and if a driver is 'playing the fool' take the video evidence to your local police station

Price? Can't find it on the website. I've never had any issues but it does seem like a good idea.

EDIT: $350 for the front one. Bit of an expensive proposition.

How is a driver description "insensitive"? I can't wait to hear THIS.

You've already heard it, you just want to pretend it's invalid. Your mouth just revealed how you really think.

BillyD 06-08-16 02:13 PM

Thread closed for insensitivity, not to mention more than one suggestion of criminal activity along the way.
