White bar tape replace with green?

Notices
Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

White bar tape replace with green?

Got the Giant Defy Advanced Pro 2. Only took it out for a few miles to set up my seat height. As was foretold to me by a powerful wizard who sees into the future...the tape gets dirty instantly. Was going to replace it with the plain ole plain ole black Lizard Skin tape but as I was scrolling through I saw green! Funky strange alien like color but oddly enough doesn't seem too bad does it?

Personally I don't like it. I like the bar tape to match something on the bike myself.

Black or blue, not green or white. Blue is not easy to find, but it'd look good. On second thought, just black.

I have two bikes with white fizik tape and they take a long time to get dirty. In fact I don't recall ever cleaning the tape and it's been on this bike for three years:

As noted, Fizik white is super easy to clean. And it's white. And that green does not match anything. At all. And, it's Fabian's last year and he used to run white, a long time ago, so you should too. Like I do. You need white hoods, not green tape.

Black or blue. Heck, even keep it white (clean!), but for pete's sake not green.

Alrighty...no green I could see that the Lizard Skins tape (if it did get dirty) would be easier to clean. I'll give that a shot!

Cinelli Caleido. It's very comfortable. I would get black but white would work as well.

Green and blue is a popular color combo. It looks good.

Fizik tape does not get dirty...ever. That is your best solution.

surprisingly, I don't mind the green...it kinda pops. black or blue would be snoozer boring and splash is horrid.

fwiw, I use Fizik white on my own bike.

Not sure where you're trying to go with the green, but if you like it, go for it. I personally like green just not in that particular application. I keep eyeing a new Scott Solace because of the colors. I like the bike overall, and geometry is right, but I like the green splashes.

Buy a few colors and put them through the rotation. I'm on red now. Next is green. In fact, I think it's a lime green.

How many miles do you guys notice your tape lasting? I'm guessing many replace with the non-stock brand? I really enjoyed the Lizard Skins 3.2 when I felt them on a guys bike so that's what I've got sitting waiting to be put on.

This is 100% correct. The only thing I would add to that is green tragedy averted!

I think the white looks good on your bike. I bought an Advanced 1 today, blue & red. I have the same tape & saddle combo. I want a red saddle & possibly blue tape if I can find a matching shade.

How do you like the ride? I've only been on a short 10 mile ride this evening. It seems to soak up bumpy roads well enough. The shop nailed my seat height without me, but I did slide it back a little. I rolled my hoods down & I may flip the stem. I like to ride nohanded a lot & am still getting used to the higher headtube. I'm glad I finally found a bike I can be confident in.

I'm coming off of a pretty good hybrid...Specialized Sirrus Comp Carbon and this bike is immediately a faster / smoother ride. Only thing is that I sort of put it together myself and realized that I should get some grease for the seat post to keep it from slipping. I didn't take it out very far both days...first day was a quick test and today it was about to storm in Chicago so I headed back so as not to get pelted with rain. 10 miles total for me so not much to say but it is a pretty fierce ride that snaps and does exactly what I ask of the bike.

Don't grease the seat post especially if it is slipping. Use carbon assembly paste.

Can the caleido tape be installed backwards? I would like all those colors up there rather than just showing up through the little holes.

I know this is the minority, but I like the green. Definitely pops. The inside of that Cinelli tape looks like the floor of my granparents basement.
