Newbie here! Is this bike worth 240$!! PLEASE HELP
I'm a 5'10 male and hopefully it's worth the price and fits.

It's probably way too big for you
It is a big bike. 6 foot plus rider. If that describes you (no way to be exact without you actually sitting on the bike)and it's as clean as it looks that's probably a decent price. Older bike with what's considered dated technology now ut it'll ride smooth and get you going if you fit it and it's in good shape.
But doesn't it say fits mid to upper 5' range??
It does but it's wrong.
First of all it doesnt' sound like seller knows how to measure a bike properly. But I'm guessing it's a 58-60cm bike which would be good for someone 6'-6'2" range probably. OP should be looking at 54-56cm bikes
has the bike has been recently cleaned and tuned...?
Thanks for the replies I am thinking then I need a 54cm bike. I am a very high level runner and use the bike to cross train so I would just need a beginner bike to go hard on every so often with bigger rides of 50-100 miles. I saw on the forums that they are selling bikes and would you suggest I get this Save Up to 60% Off New Road Bikes, Roadbikes - Mercier Galaxy AL SC1 Road bikes
I can get the2016 Mercier Galaxy SC1 Ltd for 225$ and the most I am willing to spend on a road bike is 275$. Would suggest I get this? Sorry I am very new to the sport. |

Yeah that's why I am looking at 54cm now. Shouldn't that be good for someone that is 5'10? I can order it off that new link

Nice bike, But Too Small for you.
Inseam measurement compared to ground to top of top tube. Clearance would be OK, no clearance.....not good!
If you are of "normal" proportions you may do better with a 56cm size. Proper size/fit is most important. Play around with some of the online fit calculators to get a better sense. There is way more to it than just making sure you have top tube clearance.
The online bikesdirect is a reasonable choice if you can assemble and adjust a bike. If not, you are going to spend much of your "savings" at the bike shop paying for their help! |

The answer should be NO. This bike was made somewhere between 1993 when the MSRP was $450 1993 Giant Kronos - BikePedia
and 1998 when it sold for $600 1998 Giant Kronos - BikePedia I love buying old bikes but not at that fraction of the MSRP. The components on a $450 1993 bike are going to be a lot better than on one that sells for that price today. It's just that it should be a lot cheaper to buy an 18-23 year old bike. You can use bikepedia to look up the MSRP for many bikes. Looks like the seller is a guy who buys up old bikes, cleans them up, and flips them. |
Looks like a good deal to me. Most cyclists today ride the smallest frame they can. This bike is a more traditional horizontal top tube bike. 59cm is not going to be outside your comfort range. I am 6' and ride a 61cm frame. Go ride it. Might be the right bike for you. At $240, a good solid bike.
