Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

That's not as bad as the cases of K9s left in cars that succumb to the heat, like this one:

Good point. My understanding is that dogs have a higher body temperature that people. I have also put my hands on a white dog's back and then my mainly black dog, in the sun. Big difference.

That surprises me, to be honest. Most K-9's and their partners are absolutely devoted to each other.

At the office, we're more likely to represent you if you killed someone v. killing/maiming an animal. Sad, but not sad. We have to have standards.

I remember three animal cruelty cases in ten years, and I did two of them. I still felt sad for the dogs, but believed the clients. One dog died, the other didn't. The third case involved a pigeon and a lot of poop on a patio.

I would think going with the gut would be imperative in those types of cases.

I don't think so, but now I'll give one a try as I like coconut. I usually have the chocolate brownie as it seems to have the most potassium.

On an even lighter note, today's "Usual Suspects" ride will not be in the alps, but I got the gang to agree to go up what is arguably the hardest climb in Chester county. It's a bit less than a mile but has some sections that are around 12-14%.
