Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Man, you can lose fitness fast! I'm getting back on tonight.

That MUP ain't too bad. Going to add some more miles tonight. I need to figure out a better way to get to it, though. Cars around there are more territorial than I'm used to.
Don't tell LoP because whenever I say I have a headache or something, he says "You should go for a bike ride. That'll fix it."

I must be lucky; my uncle's cat got my hand good one day and half of it got red and hot for a day or two and then recovered on its own.

Sadly, this is generally true. It depends on what you signed when you took the job.

A couple weeks ago, we noticed a vine growing out of our compost bin. We thought that it was kind of funny and, based on the leaves and flowers, we thought that we had a good idea of what it was. Whelp, it's now confirmed, but I don't think that this is going to get us out of a pumpkin patch trip in the fall for the boy.

My basement is fully finished but it's half out of the ground and has windows and a walkout slider. The walls and ceiling are plaster, half is carpet and half is ceramic tile. It's very presentable and livable.

I had to go through rabies treatment in 1980 from feral cat bites. There were a few confirmed cases of rabies within a few miles of my house from a large feral cat population which the coyotes have since decimated. Anyway, I tangled with the cat in our garage and after he shredded my hand, he bolted. I had a few days to catch the cat and we live trapped about 6 but none were the one who bit me and none were rabid.

Since we didn't find the culprit, I underwent treatment. The State of Illinois paid for everything but administration by the doctor.

When I was at Walmart, there were a number of- mostly young people- who indulged and since there weren't very many shops and one of them employed a former co-worker of ours, we kind of knew who they were. It is legal under state law there but against company policy, however, as long as you didn't have an accident with a pallet jack or constantly fall asleep in your car, you didn't get tested.

Here in Wyoming, it is positively illegal although penalties vary depending on amount and location and it's also against company policy. For that matter, so is excessive drinking but we're in Wyoming. I don't have a problem with random testing, if that's what you signed on for, and I don't have a problem with testing after an accident because worker's comp will probably be involved. I do have a problem with "You exercised your Constitutional right to freely move so we're going to test you", but most people probably aren't dumb enough to broadcast having spent the weekend in Boulder, etc.

Never fear. I watch HGTV. I know a favorite way of utilizing house space when I see one. I also know a futile complaint when I make one.

Honestly, I was there three years and took probably six puffs total. I don't get it...
