Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

After-service. They took care of the customer after the sale, and people remember that. They routinely took care of issues long past warranty coverage expired just because they believed their product shouldn't have broken. Not sure if this is the case now, but if an assembly line worker saw an issue, they could shut down the whole line and have a supervisor come verify the issue.

EDIT: Actually, I just didn't feel like losing the sky detail. If I had actual time, I might have thrown it in PS and only tweaked the mids or something, but blown up the photo kind of sucks anyway.

I built a bike with Deore LX components a couple of years ago.

Pfffft. Graduated filters are where it's at. Much more natural look than lifting shadows or whatnot, 'specially when you have a reasonably clean light/dark zone transition.

So I just went back and looked at the ride. Only 6.25 or so miles of gravel on a 23.4 mile ride. The nice part is that this actually connects to that 66 mile road/gravel ride I did. So if I somehow had a free day, I could do close to 100 miles of road/gravel from my door.

My office closes at 1 PM today. That's probably why I'm ADD on the forums this morning, I'm antsy to get out and I can't muster the energy to tackle big issues.

With Flickr, you need to get to the re-sized image that you want to post. Click on the download icon in the lower right, select 'all sizes,' select the size you want and then right-click and copy image location/address.

I haven't heard back from customer service about those stupid shoes yet, but the tracking number started working this morning. Apparently they are in China. I think that's some sort of warehouse in California.

@PepeM and that other guy calling you out in the other thread! Man up!

If someone seriously doesn't think it's a very different and much more difficult experience for a woman to become involved in bike racing, they clearly aren't paying attention. Oh well!

I especially like that she just explained some of the difficulties in her post and the the dude just goes 'I just don't see what difficulties you might be facing. If anything, it should be easier!'

Oh well.

EDIT: I have massive respect for the few women I see who show up to the Tuesday night C race every week, even though they are pretty much always off the back within the first few laps (riding against men of course, some of them VERY strong.)
