Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

My cube has a first floor view of the parking lot and warehouse, but the majority of the window blocked by another cubicle across from me. Good thing I work close to home, make decent money, and am close to good riding roads.

I think I've landed on buying the Vivoactive HR Garmin watch. I'll probably use it to record all my running and riding and just run my Edge 500 concurrently to view my rides on the fly.

Brought it up to my wife this morning and when I mentioned the price she said [expletive]. I'm trying to think of something to buy her as a gift to smooth my purchase over with her.

She's also upset that I would be wearing that watch instead of the Citizen she bought me awhile back. I get that, but at the same time I don't.

Citizen on the left arm.

Garmin on the right arm.

Considered that. It would make using the Garmin awkward though to have it on the right. It would also look goofy to wear two watches and since the Citizen is really only good for checking the date and looking nice the goofiness would offset the usefulness of wearing it.

I bought a vivomove to replace the apple watch...Garmin's servers have been down for almost a week now, and while the watch syncs with Garmin Connect, no data is uploaded.

I love Garmin products, but dang, they have so many bugs constantly.

Huh, I've been uploading my Edge 500 via Garmin Connect on my laptop no problem.

Oh yeah, my 810 uploaded just fine this weekend via bluetooth. That said, I can't upload a route to it via bluetooth or with Garmin Connect/Garmin Express. When I manually added it to folder, it gave me the wrong start/end points for the loop I had planned.

I tried the watch through Garmin Express, it connects and then says it's not supported, even though the instruction manual says that's a viable way of syncing.

*shrug*

Garmin is as Garmin does... one thing fixed, one thing broken.

I think she'd be more understanding if you funded the Garmin by selling the Citizen.

ProTip: If she engraved something sweet for you on the back, you can get that buffed out to increase its resale value.

I'm pretty sure this rule applies to everything, including building bikes.
I actually was looking forward to- at one time- putting together a bike Frankenstein-style from parts we had around the shop when I was there. *sigh* I see what you mean. At the same time, I hate the idea of simply throwing out something which seems like it should be useful.

Mine was good. I had it with lots of kraut, some onions, relish, and mustard. I think she called them that because they were a lot larger than the measly Bar-S dogs they used to grill as a "treat" for the Walmart employees. They were more along the lines of a Nathan's or a Hebrew National. Also, somebody seemed to think the New York part was eating them with kraut.

The big thing here seems to be Kronski's which use a sheep casing. I wasn't wild about them but the mushroom pepper cheese-steak was amazing.
