Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

I've got an hour to kill before cooking tacos. Guess I'll get off my butt and do a metric quarter or so.

Always butting into conversations that don't pertain to him, computer with the volume jacked up and annoying alerts when he gets emails (which is a lot), phone ringer on full blast with the default ringtone, etc.
The annoying thing people have been doing in planning meetings lately is taking or making calls right at the table where we're all still discussing whatever. If we have more than one person on their phone, I've started saying "Wow. It's really hard to concentrate and I'm not sure I have anything productive to add anyway. Could someone please send me a copy of the minutes?" Then I get up and walk the 20 feet to my office and leave the door open. Usually the meeting breaks up soon after. No one has complained and it really impressed my office-mate the first few times. Hey, sometimes a meeting is over but nobody wants to be the one to call it.

She's also upset that I would be wearing that watch instead of the Citizen she bought me awhile back. I get that, but at the same time I don't.
So, you're wife bought you a lovely watch that you won't be wearing because it doesn't do what you want/need it to. She may or may not understand why her watch isn't good enough for you but she does understand you want to spend a crapton of money on a different one plus you already have a different device that does essentially the same thing. On top of that, you're going to try to spend => amount of money to make it up to her. Am I right so far?

Well, if it makes you feel better, go sell them for scrap. Are they big?

ProTip: If she engraved something sweet for you on the back, you can get that buffed out to increase its resale value.
He can't sell the present she gave him to buy himself the watch he really wants now.

No. Maybe 8" x 5". Probably weigh around 8 pounds. If I have to scrap them, I can. I just looked at them and thought "A clever young person could do something interesting with those" and then the person said "Here. You should have these".

In our house it has to be not just useful, but in constant use, or it is gone. Mrs. rpen is beyond ruthless when it comes to pitching stuff she deems to be superfluous. I have woken up at the garbage dump several times.

Speaking of office shenanigans, myself and another guy both retired on the same day and people in the office kept saying it just wouldn't be the same without the two of us. After everybody left that night, I made the following cutouts so they wouldn't forget us.

Note, the one on the left with coffee is me and the one on the right twiddling his thumbs is the other guy.

In addition, I'm self reporting myself for not living in an area that has hills to climb.
