Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

You need to let me know the name of that shop simply because I need to offset your Yelp review with a 5 star one. And yeah, pretty sure your old Benzie takes R134a refrigerant.

I'm so sorry. Just finding out tonight my dad may have had a stroke. I noticed he was talking a little slow the other night. He gets some tests done on wednesday (I guess the docs he's already talked to don't think it's urgent at this point).

Also my uncle is having issues. He had 5 hernias fixed a couple of weeks ago, and he's dealing with sepsis. Which is under control, but they told him 3 times this week he had pancreatic cancer, and then the last time that he didn't... so that's good, but nobody was having much fun this week.

In other non-cycling news, I could not ride this morning (even though the weather is perfect, and one of my clubmates is leading a 100 mile ride through Lancaster and Chester Counties, PA) because I drew the short straw to work the holiday weekend. I went for a short run and am now in the office.

Sigh.

Thanks to all for the well wishes for my father. I'm confident that he will recover fine. He's a tough old fart.

There are certain things that 80 year olds should not do. Walking around on boat ramps wearing flip flops is one of them.
