Power tap pedals and keo cleats

I'm looking for someone who has tried keo cleats with power tap pedals. I hear rumors they will work and they certainly look very similar. In case you wonder why I would want to use them, two reasons. First ease of finding them. My LBS where I bought the pedals has not yet started carrying replacement cleats, at least locally the power tap pedals have been slow to catch on. Second I can't get any cleat covers that will fit them the keo covers will not go on so have been forced to just walk in the pedals. Thanks

They actually need Well-go cleats (I think that's the name) and they can be had easily and cheaply if your LBS doesn't stock them. The cleat covers are a trickier issue - no call for them in tri, and that's where more people seem to be using the PT pedals.

From all the research I've done, the Keos are ever so slightly different and over time as the cleat wears, the engagement gets looser.

I doubt many bike shops will ever carry replacement P1 cleats. It's such a niche accessory, given the price of the P1s. I think you're better off ordering the replacement cleats from PowerTap or buy the OEM cleats (Wellgo RC-7) from Ebay for $10. I picked up a pair of RC-7s from Ebay for when my stock cleats wear out.

I'm using the Keo cleats with the P1's without a problem. I'm using the 6 degree float cleats.

My other bike has the Keo pedals on it and I only have one pair of road bike shoes. I don't want to keep going back and forth with the cleats so I didn't bother changing them out once I figured out that they work.

My Look cleats are loose on the Powertap pedals, but perfectly usable.

I have P1s. They use Keo cleats. I use the same shoes and cleats with the P1s as I do with another set of Look pedals. Nothing special about them.
