Rhetorical Cycling Question

Notices
Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

There's no "should" about it.

If you want one and can afford it, go ahead. If you don't want one, or can't afford it, don't.

In any case, why should anybody else care either way?

I suppose get one if you need one or if you just really want one and it won't be a financial burden. There's no right or wrong answer.

Asking before you buy is just plain stupid.

What if I don't want one and it will be a financial burden?

Can I buy one then complain about the bike industry, planned obsolescence, having standards forced down my throat, they don't make things like they used to and woe is me I wish I had a bike like in the good old days from before I was born and bikes were simpler.

How many bikes does an angel need in his garage? Does that change depending on whether or not the garage is the side of the head of a pin?

Don't buy a new bike unless you have ****loads of money to spend.

Buy a frame and build it from scratch.

That way you'll already have the upgraded parts.

All speeds. The degree of effect changes; the effect itself does not.

What about aero vs. non aero in a consistently stiff headwind?

to OP:

You should DEFINITELY buy a new bike, if for no other REASON than the fact that it WILL exponentially INCREASE your chances of being ABLE to totally BLOW by the losers trying hang on your WHEEL.
