Disk road wheels for up to $700-What do you recommend?

Hey guys,

I have a friend a tiny little friend (She's less than 5' tall :)) who's looking for a pair of disk road wheels in the $600-700 price range that will be an improvement over her current Giant Liv OEM wheels. Her groupset is Shimano 11-spd.
Thanks

I have Novatec CXDs. They can be found online for around $500. I like em a lot. Super light for the value ~1500g and I'm a big guy who takes my road bike with 28cs on dirt trails, off curbs, etc. regularly and they've stayed much truer than the 32-spoke stock wheelset.

I have a set of boyd altimont's on my commuter, really like them a lot. They are in the ball park for price.

These look really good, and November is a great company. I nearly bought a set, but decided instead to save up for a set of their Range carbon disc wheels.

The Stans Notubes Grail wheels are one of the best aluminum disc brake road wheels on the market. Can be run with tubes+road tires. $645 for the Comp version,

riding purpose? Racing? Tri's? supported trips like Cycle Oregon

under 5' tall I wouldn't even have her on a big wheel 700c bike.

Which one?

Don't know the exact model but its a 2015 Giant Liv, Carbon frame, disk brakes, Tiagra 4600, 10-spd. Black and pink, XS.

Don't some manufactures spec the super small frames with 650B wheels or am I imagining things?

I too have the Boyd Altamonts. Paid $700 for the wheelset for my Giant Defy. I just ordered the new Boyd 44mm Disc Brake carbon wheels and will be passing the Altamonts to my wife's 2026 Giant Liv bike. The Altamonts are fantastic and roll great. My wife is going to be blown away over the improvement.

Yep, doing the same for my rim brake Boyd's, I picked up some of the 2015 Bontrager Aeolus 5's for half price on closeout for my road bike, moved my Boyd's to her bike.
