Important helmet question

Notices
Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

That is a good point. You would want to brush it on in light coats not to get it on the foam.

The spray form with a tape mask should be safe.

I accidently got some Deep Woods off bug repellent on an expensive helmet. It put permanent stains in the plastic outer cover. Where the spray hit the Styrofoam, the Styrofoam just melted, it disappeared.

Some sort of plastic coating.

I expect the plasti-dip and similar has solvent in it that evaporates away leaving the rubber/plastic.

Solvent and Styrofoam don't mix.

Your overthinking it.. Remove the entire sticker and just purchase a new matte black style sticker of your choice and apply it. If you can't find anything already made just order a custom sticker and use that. I think they costs about $10 for custom and half that for ones already made on ebay.

Never take it off or look at a mirror. Then it won't bother you.
