Time RXS vs Quattro
I've spent quite a bit of time going back and reading old threads about various clipless systems, but haven't really been able to much to compare between these two sets.
I'm shopping around for road shoes right now as well as new pedals. From everything I've found, the RXS seems to be a good fit for me, but then last night I started reading about the Quattro. I currently have MTB shoes and SPD pedals.
I'll leave the topic of road vs MTB shoe for several other active threads, but I do understand the draw of MTB shoes. I'm sure there will be times where I'll wish I could use my MTB shoes, but I had decided I could still manage the road shoes or switch pedals in the worst case. Then I read about the Quattro. Supposedly it's a road pedal, but can still accept MTB shoes.
This seems like a good compromise, but I haven't been able to find much about how it performs as a road pedal. I have started racing, so this is a factor in my decision. Anyone have experience with the Quattro and other road pedals, possibly the RXS?
TIA!

I've got quattro, and I can't see why you wouldn't be able to use it with ANY shoe that accepts the 2-screw cleat. Far as I know, that's the only limiting factor. I use the quattro with both road shoes and with my lake sandals.

That's exactly what appeals to me about the quattro. The only uncertainty I have is how it would compare to other road pedals. Most of the comments I've found on the quattro compare it to MTB pedals.

The Quattro has some problems with some MTB shoes. Easily resolved. The inside molded cleats need to be shaved down in many cases, to clear the thicker pedal axle of the Quattro. I have Quattros on my commuter, road and SS/Fixie. I prefer MTB shoes for commuting and everyday use. I use a road shoe also, but only when I'm feelin' competitive and out for a fast ride.

I have the RXS pedals (Carbon version) - they are excellant pedals - great float, solid and firm, and no squeaking or noise (after 500 miles) - highly recommended!
