Hydraulic brakes with Internal cabling drop bars
 

Hey guys

Does anyone know if you can internally route the hydraulic hose thru aero drop bars like a cable? I dont see any reason why not but im no expert. I was thinking swopping to some aero drop bars but dont know if i could do it with Shimano ST-RS685 Hydraulic STI Road Lever

It takes a little more work than with cables, but its not a problem for competent mechanics.

I have no idea, but it appears possible based on the above. I specifically bought a bar that didn't have internal routing, however.

It depends on the frame. Many internally routed frames are setup for bare cable not housing, in which case the openings will be too small.

The OP didn't ask about routing brake hose through a frame.

I didn't have any trouble routing my hydraulic lines through my 3T ergonova drop bars

You can.

But you have to bleed the brakes to do it. So it'll cost ~$100 front and back. (To have your mechanic do it.)

I considered bars that routed the cables internally, but went with ones that were concave on the bottom instead because of that.
