Bike Recovered-Stupid Thief
I was browsing through Craigs list and saw an interesting "2006 Specialized track road bike bicycle" for sale. https://richmond.craigslist.org/bik/317259546.html Below it I saw a posting for a guy looking for his Stolen Specialized 2006 bicycle. https://richmond.craigslist.org/bik/313507076.html.
You think the thief would have looked down the list. Anyway I notified the owner and he just emailed me he got his bike back. Don't know about the thief.
I waited until the guy got he bike back before posting.

A bit off topic, but worth mentioning - someone once suggested (here probably) that you insert a small note in the space in your bottom bracket, listing you as the owner of your bike; the idea is that if it is ever stolen and worked on by a bike shop, they would realize who the rightful owner is and set things right.

I do hope that our legal system deals with him sternly, but he probably gets a slap on the wrist and is back out stealing bikes today.

I use clear packing tape and put a note on the stearer tube. Up in the seatpost or in a handbar is also good but these get stripped quick.
