Item Discontinued?
 
i placed an order with performance on friday and now after checking the order status online, i see that my order for the knee warmers are discontinued. yet on their site, it's still shows it's in stock.

i wish they can mod the website so that users can login and modify their orders before it's processed. i used the 20% off coupon which orders must be $79 or more, so with this item discontinued, i don't wanna end up getting charged full price for the whole orders.

guess i have to call them on monday.

My experience with Performance has generally been good except for their inability to keep their Web site up to date. I ordered some pedals and shoes from them last year. After waiting for almost two weeks I called them to find out the status of the order. They were sold out. The item was still on the Web site being offered for sale.

I ordered some booties (and other stuff that wasn't as important) from them 2 weeks ago for a century I was doing last Friday - with 2 day air shipping to make sure I'd get them in time (everything showed as "in stock"). After a couple days I check the order and sure enough the booties are discontinued . So I call to ask the order status, "oh - it's on hold because of the discontinued items". I'm thinking "we're you ever going to let me know this or was I supposed to be clarvoiant and know to call in?" I said "they still show as in stock on the web site"...response "yeah, the web site lags sometimes". I ask if I can substitute some others and get the order sent out - no problem there.

Long story short - got the substitutes in time, weather was fine so I didn't need them anyway....and the originals I ordered? Still show "in stock" on the web site.

Wow, This is like the 20th time ive seen performance suck. Its funny ive been a member for about 7 months Never any problems. they do have some problems with there website (load time) There are times when im making an order and the site lags then it expires the I have to start again. Thats my only complaint.

well, i'm a member here.. and i'm sure they'll take care of me like they take care of every member. i've just gotta call them and make the changes myself i guess. i figure i can either get the cannondale gel gloves or i can get a jersey.

I gave up on them after my first order. They weren't helpful and basicallly could care less, so I cancelled what was left of the order and found my parts elsewhere.

wow.. sorry to hear about that pj. i've bought from them several times.. actually this is my 4th time and this is the first time that stuff was discontinued. i'm still going to remain hopeful that i can just subsitute the item.

Try getting waited on in one of their brick and morters! Maybe it's just me, but the last couple times I've been in there, I might as well have been invisible. Granted, they were busy, but I didn't even get a "hi - I'll be with you in a minute." Yesterday, I gave up and decided to order online - only to find out the sale items were actually higher priced online. I give up.

They do that more often than we think. What gets me is that they don't tell you at all. You just get your order and wonder why an item isn't there, and when you call, THEN they tell you it's been discontinued, out of stock, etc.

Bleah.

Its funny, if an of them had any common sense they would be on this board finding out peoples views. Then alter their company to make it user friendly. I bet money someone who works at performance is on this board. Not neccesarily for my idea above but jsut to talk.

Amusingly, I ordered the Ergopower levers and some cheapie Shimano-compatible pedals... the pedals are discontinued but the levers haven't processed yet. I'm not TOO worried about the pedals, but I'll call them on Monday and see what they have to say about it. The levers are the most important part.

What 20% of coupon? That would bring them down to the same price as the store.

cryo... i think we have to call them to make the changes, cuz if you used the 20% off coupon code.. and if an item is discontinued and they process the order for just one item under $79.00 then they might charge you the full price. that's what i'm afraid of.

however, if they let it slide and lets you cancel the discontinued item without having to pick something of equal or same value... then that would be great!

here's an update. my item got discontinued and i gave them a call. as it turns out, the whole has a HOLD status and would have remained in HOLD status till i give them a call.

anyway, i asked since i used a 20% off coupon and due to the fact the item got discontinued, it would have put me below the $79 requirement. so i asked them if i had to buy something else to make up for the difference. they said....

NOPE.

so right now the rest of my orders are still going to get the 20% off treatment and will get shipped today; except my co2 system that's backordered till 5/27. :(

so cryo.. give them a call to let them know. ;)
