Ah yes, Performance Bike and their bizarre world...

Notices
Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Ah yes, Performance Bike and their bizarre world...

So, I got sick of waiting for a backordered Shimano cassette and chain and cancelled the order about two weeks ago. This afternoon they showed up in the mail!

I'm keeping them, even though I bought them already, as spares but it makes me go "huh?"

Maybe when they backorder/discontinue something you shold cancel your oder so the parts actually arrive.

Hmm - maybe the same theory would hold true for going to their local brick and morter and trying to get waited on. Maybe if I just go there and stand outside the door they'll come out and see if they can help me. It would sure beat hanging out inside actually looking at merchandise hoping someone will help me.

i once had something like this happen with a set of $400 computer speakers.

My inital set broke, i sent them in under warrenty, they were going to send a new box. After two weeks and no feedback i called them and they couldnt seem to find the speakers i sent, so they just sent out a new box. Then aparently they found my speakers and still carreid out the order.

My UPS guy said "didnt i deliver this a week ago"

I had an experience with Sears once that still has me shaking my head.

I bought a lawnmower that stopped working shortly after I got it home, so I took it back to the store. They said they'd be happy to repair it. I said, bull, you'll give me a new one since the one you sold me was defective. They abliged, and I took home a new mower.

The funny part was, a few weeks later I kept getting messages on my answering machine from the Sears repair center. They said my mower was fixed and waiting to be picked up.

I'm almost positive I could've gotten two mowers for the price of one, but my stupid conscience wouldn't let me do it.

As far as I know I WAS charged but that's still alright as I bought the deal with the "free" chain so I technically "saved" $20.

I just found it odd.
