Poll: How old are you?

Notices
Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

I'm gonna guess Dan doesn't work for the Nielsen Company.

Jeez, you guys are hard on my poll groupings. I guess it's a half-open interval where the starting point is included but the endpoint is not, so if you're 35 you fit into the 35-40 group and not the 30-35 group. I should have noted it [35,40) ect.

I'll self-ban myself shortly.

Wrong on both counts. Best Batman? Kevin Conroy. Best Joker? Mark Hamill. Indisputable.

Batman: The Animated Series (1992-1995)

So sayeth I, of the 14th percentile.

51, but 52 is right around the corner.

Adam West and Burt Ward willl always be THE "Batman and Robin." Their cheesy movie/TV series will always be tops as well. The vintage 60's Catwoman actresses filled out the leather better also.

As for Keaton, that Mullety, permy hairdo that he had(not much hair left now) just doesn't work for Bruce Wayne/Batman. Plus, he grunts most of his lines in there like a Gorilla.

Clearly, I've opened up a can of worms as the Batman debate is drawing more attention than the poll or the age-old iPhone/Android debate

Well, after you put your age down you have to have something to talk about. Otherwise, it is a dull thread.

That's very had to argue with. Mark Hamill also had the benefit of several writers over several years. Ledger only got one shot at the character, as did Jack. I think Jack was a really scary, mobster style version of Romero's Joker, which worked really well for the movie. Ledger was horrifying, funny, and worked really well within the universe that version of Batman inhabited.

Best Batman? I'd probably definitely go with Kevin Conroy, but then you're basically looking at one guy who had the benefit of multiple writers over several years. If you asked me who the best actual Batman was, I'd say it was probably Grant Morrison's Batman closely followed by Scott Snyder's (both writers of the actual comic series). But Kevin definitely gets best Batman portrayal in a series or film. I liked Christian Bale and the Nolan trilogy, but that definitely missed the mark in terms of the definitive Batman.

Ok, done.

RIP.

I didn't say "best", I said "defining".... Since I was 10 when I saw Batman with Keaton & nicholson...their performances defined those 2 roles for me... all other Jokers get compared to Nicholson.

:-)

Let's not forget Mark Hamill! He was also great...I grew up on Batman the Animated series too!

There's the problem. The first Batman seen is usually the defining one. Before The Keaton movie, the Batman world outside of the comic books was the one portrayed in the 60's Movie/TV series. Vastly different from the "Dark Knight." You did have the animated Batman on the Saturday animated shows. For the most part though, Batman was the campy, comedic character played by Adam West.

This thread has moved a little off-topic.
I'll throw my hat in the rig for Heath as the Joker.
Probably Michael Keaton was a better Batman (as far as accurate portrayal of the character), but I really like Christian Bale so I vote for him.

Also- Sean Connery as the best Bond.

And Christopher Reeve for Superman.
