Reynold's R Four wheelset at Performance
Performanace Bike Shop has a set of new 2016 Reynolds R Four wheelset for $800. Should I jump on this? Thoughts? Normally go for $1749.00.

That said, they're damn fine wheels for the money. I have a set and they are very stiff, light (~1500g), roll very well, and have smooth hubs.
Do note however that they are the older, thinner profile style, so the max width tire you can run on it is 25.
*Plus, if you're a Performance Member, you'll get $80 back in store credit for future purchases.

I don't know anyone who has paid more than $800 for those new. Be careful of the PB "marketing distortion field". Their sale prices are the actual *real* prices.

Yeah, they've been "on sale" at $999 for at least a year with an additional 20% off on Christmas, New Years, MLK day, Memorial Day, July 4th, Labor day, Columbus day, Presidents, etc... Basically one week out of every month, lol.

Very good points. I saw in a post from over a year ago that these are fairly old models...somewhere in the range of 4-5+ years old. It's still a good price, but I think it would be better to invest in the newer generation wider profile rims that seem to do well in the wind tunnels.
