Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

best price for sram red compact

wondering if anyone could recommend the best place with the best price for a sram red compact crankset bb30? I was looking at bikeprokit in the uc, but, they have such a terrible reputation that I passed....looking to keep it under 300.00

SRAM has been locking down sales to US, you'll have to pay full price from some US dealer.

I would check ebay. Bikewagon has one for $259 new for SRAM Red 22 GXP 170

What's so bad about Probikekit?

Pretty decent IME.

New take-offs on craigslist. Dentists pull them off to install power meters, let 'em go for like $150. But you need to be on time when meeting up, they don't tolerate missed appointments.

I agree with you about Probikekit, but the OP didn't mention Probikekit. They said "bikeprokit in the uc."

Since you're in California, I figured you might know. Maybe it's near the "OC?"

Solid advice! Something along those lines hooked me up this winter. It's all about timing.
