Bikejam 2005

Notices
Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

I didn't know about it until today, but if I'd known, I would have went. I saw quite a few people with the bikejam t-shirts in the crowd at the CSC Invitational today.

It was a great day at the races until just at the finish of the Womens Pro Race(1:30pm) as it began to rain. It became cool and rained for about an hour during the Men's Pro Race. Then the Sun returned just at the finish of the Men's Pro Race. Anyway by then nearly everyone had gone home. The interest and fan support for bicycle racing in this area is non-existent.

I should have driven to Virginia today. . . I prep'd my bike and rode the B&A Trail instead

I wanted to go to Bikejam and CSC, but I had to work during CSC and I was busy yesterday morning. I was hoping to race at Quicksilver next Saturday, but I have SAT stuff then. Uggh. Greenbelt on Wednesday though! That will be fun.

I'll have ot catch a recap on Monday from my friend who rode in Bikejam.

Thankfully, after June 6th I'll just be working (on my own schedule-wahoo!), riding, and racing whenever I want.

Laura Van Gilder is hot this weekend. She won the BikeJam race as she half laped the field for 5 laps. Now I read she won at the CSC Invitational.

She sure did. That whole woman's field was incredible.
