FAST Metric - A Little Taste of Speed
Just finished a metric with only gentle rollers, nothing to take one out of the 50 ring. Holy snot did those guys fly. 20 miles into it our front group still had at 50 guys rubbing elbows at 25 mph with breaks in the 30s. I just couldn't hang on and dropped into a chase group. Finished with a 22.5 mph average... by FAR a personal best. But for awhile there, in the middle of the fast peleton I could almost imagine what the big boys feel like. And there was a taste of the danger, too... just in front of me a guy went down hard (he was OK)!
All in all, a great day.

Good stuff, sounds like tons of fun. Luckily, the guy was ok. I wouldn't want to fall in the middle of the peloton at those speeds.
