Now how much did you have to spend to accrue that much in dividends? Guessing 5%? Pretty good return.

They give you 10 % of what you spend back. For a while I had an REI credit card, which had double bonus points on groceries, so I'd use it every time I bought food, then pay it off immediately, which paid for a free jacket.

I picked up a bottle cage yesterday and, at the checkout, was notified that I had a whopping $1.82 that I could apply towards the purchase. SCORE!

protip. Don't use your dividend, always cash out. They don't give you a dividend on your dividend purchase so even if you are planning on spending it, pay for it preferably with an REI CC and wait till june for the money

IIRC, I got about $220. I have their credit card. Earns 1% back on all non-REI purchases but grocery purchases, which have been earning 2% for a long while. Sadly, the 2% grocery deal comes to an end this month.
For 2017 I have already earned over $90 through, thanks in part to my kitty getting cancer.

No REI in south Florida so when I was visiting my son in VA Beach in August I bought a Garmin Forerunner watch and gave him the points, he loves that place, him and his GF buy a lot there so I hope he made out pretty good.

I've never been there so the last dividend I ever got was when the insurance company that issued my burial policy to my parents converted their stock or something...

Thanks. He's been getting chemo and 'roids since January. The tumor on his intestines is no longer palpable, which is good news, but he did lose a little weight since his last visit a month ago after gaining some since the start of treatment. Hope that's not a sign of him deteriorating.

They're great, if not losing your bottle is a priority - they hold on very securely, even over very rough stuff. You do have to be rather deliberate about pulling bottles straight out, though. I've had one on the gravel bike for about 6 months now, finally adding another in anticipation of weather that'll necessitate more hydration. At 10 bucks, they're stupid cheap.

My dividend was just under $10 which was shocking until I remembered that most of what I buy there (which is a lot) is on sale and doesn't qualify for the dividend. I put it toward a new Kühl Firefly jacket, also bought on sale.
That said, for next year I'm already at $15 thanks to buying a new saddle for my Randonee.

My wife is obsessively into hiking, kind of like how we're into cycling.
