Addiction LXV

Notices
Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Fun bike ride done? Check.
Lawn mowed? Check.
Last 2 Km of Amstel Gold seen in Dutch? Check.

Next mission: teach daughter #1 to drive stick on the Saturn without burning my clutch. Much luck needed.

He has. And he has returned. Killer tailwind up the coast to A.C. this morning. SNAFU: This morning I took off my cheap, Chinese Rx glasses to put on my reading glasses to take a photo and read a text and left the former on a bench. Didn't realize it for a few miles and had to turn back (into the wind) to retrieve them.

Lawn care update- exchanged the mower for an identical one. This new one seems to work flawlessly. Yay.

$3,900. Ouch. I don't want it that much. I'll stick to my old 1986 Diamondback converted with drop bars.

Yeah, they retail for $2,500 in the US. Well equipped, but still ... money.

Nice pics indyfabz!

Tried a new recipe for the allegedly "best evah" Chocolate Chip Cookies. Basically the differences are: you brown the butter, use semi-sweet discs rather than chips, add some chopped Heath bars and sprinkle the tops with flaky sea salt.

They are indeed pretty darn good cookies! Sailing food for our trip next weekend.

Here's the recipe:

Whoa, this almost slipped past us.

"Like many inventions, the internet was the work of countless hands. But perhaps no one deserves more credit for that world-changing technological leap than Robert Taylor, who died this past Thursday at the age of 85. Indeed, few people were as instrumental in shaping the modern computer-connected world as he."

https://www.nytimes.com/2017/04/14/t...t-85.html?_r=0

RIP Mr. Internet
