S-Works vs Regular bottle cages (and a ques about LBS discounts)
I just bought an S-Works Roubaix ... bike won't be here for another week. LBS didn't have much flexibility on the price due this being a "red hot item" (in their words), fair enough. They promised to make it up for me with discounts on pedals/accessories. What might be a good % to expect?
Are the S-Works bottle cages worth it? Curious what the difference(s) are, the price differential is huge ($55 vs $8 for regular). Perhaps they'll offer me 50% off the S-Works cage

S-Works cage is carbon, it'll save a few grams, unless you're racing it won't matter, save the money

You'll regret not going with S Works. It's ok to ask for a good discount on the bottle cages, but you must do et! The bike won't look right without them. Looking the part is 80% of the equation.

I'm used to 20% discount on accessories. I like Ibera cages personally and they are only $9 on Amazon. The nice thing about buying a bike at a LBS in my experience has been all the little "favors" you get with the relationship (i.e. a free bolt here, an extra ferrule there, and often free small repairs). You might ask about a professional bike fit discount if they provide that service at that shop.

For a $10k bike what's another $100 bucks to have matching cages. Do it right.

OP, you have been had. How could discounting accessories possibly make up for not discounting a multi-thousand dollar bike...even if we are talking about giving you stupid expensive water bottle cages for free? I don't mean to say that you were bamboozled by getting no discount on the bike. Not everyone buys at the same price. You either know how to do it, or you don't. Although the notion that they can sell all they can get at full price is a bit specious.
But for sure you should have challenged that BS about the accessories right then and there. Money is money. If they can take the discount off one thing, they can take it off another.

My S-works Roubaix is getting delivered today! Can't freaking wait. I put the order in for it over seven months ago. I got mine for $7600, but The LBS owner always gives me killer deals on Spec stuff. No one has reviewed the S-works stuff yet, can't wait to see how it rides.

Sorry for not being clear.
I got 12% discount (thought I saw some higher numbers being posted here on other threads), as this was the best they could do. Hence my comment about them not having much wiggle room beyond this.
They're also throwing in a free fit session + pedals. They also offer free lifetime adjustment (on all bikes).
Will ask about the S-Works bottle cages when I go in next week

I'd be wary here. Try your bottles in the S-Works cages first. I went with the plastic Rib Cage II because, to be blunt, the carbon ones gripped the bottles very poorly. I've shown this fact to multiple LBS staffers and they've all been surprised at how wobbly bottles are in those cages.
They're light, they're pretty, and they're terrible.

Wow! 24% off on a bike that was launched just about the time you placed the order
You did good ... despite what you may have heard otherwise.
